Browsing Welldressed – the online Men’s Style Journal, I stumbled upon this exclusive interview with one of swedish famous etrepreneurs: Johan Stäel von Holstein and his highly radical and interesting opinion on Social networking:

Holstein_145978635

Some parts:

What do you think of Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter? Do they have any relevance? Or are they a waste of time?

I think that they are monsters, horrible creatures that lure us into their nets like the singing mermaids in Homer’s Odyssey. They have extreme relevance today, but hopefully there will be a revolution and new players entering the markets with true relevance for the users, the content owners which will empower us all to increase our efficiency, our profitability as individuals, as we will be able to monetize our skills, knowledge, experience and hard work.

What is the most dangerous aspect of Social networking and why?

We are digitally enslaved, deprived of our sense of privacy, our Intellectual Properties, deprived of leveraging our talents, knowledge, information and experience, creating a horrible and utterly inefficient environment as the Soviet Union. It will potentially lead to the end of our civilization very much resembling the movie Metropolis or the book 1984.

Facebook is to launch a site to enable advertisers to view and comment on advertising campaigns

The site, dubbed Facebook Studio, promotes the concept of social advertising, in which consumers are targeted based on their social network and are invited to interact with marketing campaigns.

Facebook Studio hopes to show social advertising is a creative, getting ad teams to share, like and comment on creative work published on the new site.

The social networking firm began its campaign by inviting a select group of UK advertising leaders to meet Facebook’s top executives at an “influencers’ summit” last month in Palo Alto, California, according to the Financial Times.

The summit highlighted the word-of-mouth power of Facebook and its impact on advertising, and the use of conversational language to engage with consumers.

Oreo, for example, posts questions on its wall like “What’s your favourite part of an Oreo – the cookie or the creme?” Almost 10,000 people responded, and all of those comments then spread exponentially to their friends’ news feeds.

Porsche Puts Names of 1 Million Facebook Fans on a 911

As part of its “Thank You” campaign, Porsche plastered the names of one million of its closest Facebook friends onto a hot rod.

We all love a good timelapse video around here, but this one’s subtler than most. It shows a crew of Porsche folks painstakingly detailing a brand new 911 GT3 R Hybrid… but with what? The video isn’t high-resolution enough to read them, but all those teeny gray squiggles adorning the hood, tail, and sides of the car? They’re names — one million names, to be exact, of Porsche’s Facebook fans.

Want to see if your name is one of the lucky ones to make onto this beauty? Click here to launch Porsche’s slick promo site, where you can type your name into the search box. Or you can peer at this closeup and try it the old fashioned way. (Where’s that CSI-style “enhance!” command when you need it?)

Anyway, Facebook, social marketing, yada yada yada… the car is still the thing to marvel at here. Not only does this sucker sport Porsche’s legendary 911 style, it’s also a hybrid. Which means it hauls ass on the racetrack and gets (relatively) great gas mileage! Put that on your status update.
